Personal: Pray for a heart that builds unity, not division.
External: Pray for churches across our region to walk in unity and shared mission.

Is God In It?
My wife and I were driving to make an investment of thousands of dollars in a business when I realized that I had absolutely NO peace about doing this. I wanted to. It was a friend’s business of which he was offering us an ownership piece. I could imagine a fruitful return. But God’s peace left me. I pulled over and stopped the car, looked at Sherry and said, “We are not supposed to do this.” I suspect she already knew that but she simply agreed and we drove back home. I let down a friend that day, but learned to hear God’s voice even more clearly.
One of the most frequent questions asked by believers is “How do I know the will of God?” I’ll bet you’ve asked that question many times.
Is this the school for me?
Should I take this job?
Does God want me to marry?
Where should I worship?
There are principles about discovering and walking in the perfect will of God and today’s verse highlights one of them. Look for peace and steer away from confusion.
Anytime I am confused, I know that God is not in it.
Anytime I have no peace, I don’t think it’s God’s will (please note that anything of faith raises “anxiety” but God’s peace will still be there).
Anytime stress enters, the Spirit is ready to counter it with His love.
And any person that brings confusion, conflict, accusations, gossip, or a toxic attitude is not operating in the guidance of the Spirit. The church is meant to be free of chaos.
By the way, by stopping the car and turning around that day we saved ourselves a lot of money. That “investment” lost all of its value in less than two years.
