KNOWING JESUS
Who is Jesus?
Knowing God is not about joining a religion, following a set of rules, or even about being a “good person.” Knowing Him is about having your own personal relationship with the Creator of the universe, discovering just how much He truly loves you, and embarking on the journey of loving Him in return.
In these uncertain times where financial stability is shaken, justice is threatened, natural disasters loom, and our own personal trials persist – God is there. He has promised to never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6), to walk with us through the valleys of life (Psalm 23), and to rejoice with us during times of celebration (Romans 12:15). The fact is, God loves us.
God loves YOU.
The Bible says that He loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for you (John 3:16), and stand in the gap for all of our sins (1 John 2:1-2). It also says that no matter what our past has been like, or what bad decisions we have made, we are forgiven (Acts 10:43; 2 Corinthians 5:15-17). We can have a fresh start on life and a hope for the future (Ephesians 4:17-32)!
Jesus is our connection to God and to His grace (John 14:6). It is through a personal relationship with Him that we are saved. Not by our works (Ephesians 2:8-9), not by anything we have done (or not done) – it’s all about having a real relationship with Him. A relationship is what He wants from us, and the Bible says that when we draw near to Him, He draws near to us (James 4:8).
Our prayer for you is similar to Ephesians 3:16-20. May you know Him. May you know His love – and may you be overwhelmed as you watch Him do things with your life that will far exceed anything you could ask, hope, or dream!
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
How do I get to know Him?
Discovering Jesus isn't just about recognizing Him as a savior but also embracing Him as a friend. Despite our flaws and the shame we carry, Jesus extends his friendship, embodying love and mercy.
He walked the earth as a friend of sinners, inviting us to draw close to Him despite our past. Jesus is not only a loving Savior but also our faithful Lord. Embracing Him goes beyond mere belief; it's about personally receiving His gift and choosing to follow His lead.
Even though the term "Lord" may carry negative connotations, following Jesus brings freedom and purpose to our lives. Amid life's trials, Jesus promises peace and ultimate victory. Surrendering to Him brings true joy and fulfillment. By confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in His resurrection, we find salvation and eternal significance.
