Real Power

TODAY'S READING – 2 Thessalonians 2

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE - 2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.

There is no doubt that we live in a troubled, cursed world that operates under the influence of the evil one. Depending on your interpretation of end time events, the final chapter of this earth and its inhabitants is complete with conflict and diabolical figures. The “lawless one” or “anti-Christ” is a puppet of Satan empowered by the demonic forces of hell.

But with all this resource, note how dramatically the lawless one will be done away with... "with the breath of His mouth and... the brightness of His coming.”

God exhaling literally blows away the powers of darkness. Jesus’ glorious coming obliterates the enemy.

Friend, don’t be dismayed at the apparitions of power reflected by the world’s systems. Real power is in God alone. He breathes and we are set free. He turns His face towards us, and the enemy melts like wax. He twitches a muscle and hell is crushed. He lifts His hand and the curses against you are vaporized.

All you and I need to do is to stay close to God. His power takes care of everything else.
