Answers
How often do the classes meet?
Classes are held once per week for 13 consecutive weeks.
How is each class structured?
Each class session lasts approximately two hours. During the first hour, Dave Ramsey teaches on video. During the second hour, class members come together for small-group discussion. Group members support each other and hold each other accountable as they work together to transform their financial future.
What is the average size of the class?
Each class size averages between 8–12 families (12–24 people).
What happens if I miss one class? Can I make it up?
As part of your lifetime membership to FPU, you will receive audio discs of all 13 lessons in your kit. If you miss a class, simply review the audio during the week and discuss a meaningful highlight with your coordinator when you return to class.
You could also ask your coordinator about possibly making up the session or borrowing the DVD. If a coordinator loans out a DVD—with the promise that it will be returned at least two days prior to the next class—we suggest they only do so if they get a $35 deposit on the DVD. That’s what it will cost to replace it.
How many classes do I need to attend in order to graduate?
You must attend 12 of the 13 classes to qualify for a graduation certificate.
What are the subjects covered in each lesson?
Find out about each lesson on the Class Preview page.
When will the first class start?
Click here for the class schedule.
Can I get any additional assistance?
Yes! All coordinators and FPU members can call the office at 877.FPU.COOR or 888.227.3223 anytime for additional assistance. If the question is short and simple, then one of our phone advisors will be glad to answer it free of charge.
However, if it is a more detailed and complex question that requires a trained counselor’s assistance, phone counseling or one-on-one counseling is available through a network of trained counselors. For more information on counseling, visit the counseling page. You can also contact any of the pastors at The Cause and we will do our best to serve you!
