The DNA Journal and reading plan is all about loving the Word of God and applying its principles to daily living.
Here are 5 Daily Devotional Steps:
Find the reading corresponding to today’s date from the Bible Reading Plan located in the back of your journal. Turn to that chapter in your Bible, asking the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you.
As you read the passages, underline anything the Lord impresses on you as a personal word. When you read with an open heart, the Lord will give you words of encouragement, direction, and correction (2 Timothy 3:16).
Turn to a fresh “Daily Page” to record what God has just shown you (See example on page 6).
- Enter the date.
- Daily reading: Which verse or verses is God impressing upon me today? Write out that verse or verses in the “D” section.
- Notes: What do I notice and observe about this verse? Write those observations in the provided space labeled “N”.
- Application: How do I apply this truth to my life? Write out the application in the provided space labeled “A”.
- Title the page with a personal theme from your study.
Turn to your Table of Contents in the front and catalog your entry by date, Scripture, title, and page number. Also check the (S) box – noting this was a personal devotion.
Conclude your daily devotional time by turning to the Prayer List and interceding for the requests which remain.
