“Growing while sharing life together” (Acts 2:42-47)

At The Cause, we don’t just want to attend church – we want to share life together. As you develop genuine friendships with other believers, you experience growth and victory in your relationship with Jesus. Not only are you ministered to and cared for on a personal basis, but God uses your life experiences, personal testimony, and gifts and abilities to love and minister to others.

What is a Connect Group?
A Connect Group is a caring community of people who grow spiritually while sharing life together. Each group meets twice a month in a local home or business for fellowship, Bible application, and prayer. As part of a Connect Group, you will:

  • Build great relationships with others.
  • Strengthen your relationship with God.
  • Be loved unconditionally.
  • Be prayed for faithfully.
  • Be ministered to individually.

Where are Connect Groups located?
There are various locations in Brea and the surrounding cities in Orange County and L.A. County. Most Connect Groups meet in homes; some meet at work or in public places like Starbucks.

Are there different types of Connect Groups?
Yes.  Most groups are “open”, meaning that anyone is welcome to attend.  Some groups provide their own childcare.  There are also groups that are targeted for a specific type of person, including:

  • Married couples
  • Newly-married couples
  • Men

  • Spanish-speakers
  • Junior High and High School Students (also called “D-Groups”)
  • Young adults, age 18-30ish

Connect Groups are always open for you to join at any time, but re-launch every few months.  We are confident that there is a Connect Group that will meet your needs.  Click here to see a complete listing of Connect Groups.

UNSHAKEABLE (presented by Pastors Bob & Sherry Reeve–A new series from the authors of Rebuilding the Walls: 52 Days to a Healthier Christian Life)

The last words any student wants to hear are, “Tomorrow we will have a test!”  Nobody likes tests.  Testing means pressure.  Testing means preparing.  Testing means potential for failure.  Testing means the truth is about to come out.

Somebody said that people are like toothpaste… the real you comes out only when you are squeezed.

Adversity is necessary for growth, fruitfulness, and developing durability.   Trees need water, but too much water will kill them. Muscles need resistance in order to grow bigger.  Your heart needs exercise through cardiovascular training in order to be healthy.  Almost all products you buy are tested for performance and reliability.

Life is not just about relaxation, entertainment, and dessert.  It is also about challenge, frustration, disappointment, and adversity. Your spiritual life will never be truly healthy unless it is strengthened by facing and overcoming difficulties.

Some challenges are certainly hellish in their origination and are overcome only through the grace of God.  But don’t blame everything on the devil.  God allows testing in order to develop strength.  James writes, Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”(James 1:2-4).

Nothing good ever comes easy, even spiritual maturity.  Make a deep commitment to becoming an UNSHAKEABLE believer!
